Micromax finally launched it's much awaited smartphone 'Canvas 4'- a 5" phablet at a price of  17,999. It is a successor of Micromax Canvas HD , which was one of the most popular smarphones.

Canvas 4
The popularity and fast-growth of Micromax smartphones in Tech-Market is because of the perfect blend of features and economical pricing. But this time micromax seems to have taken the different turn. With the Canvas 4, the company's key focus areas are the build and construction of the device and a differentiated user experience.

The design of Canvas 4 is simple and sleek and much similar as its
predecessor. The only new thing in Canvas 4 design is aluminium casing that surrounds the edges and gives a phone a premium look. To avoid scratches it has a Corning Gorilla Glass at the front.

The Canvas 4 has a 5" IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels that results in a 294 ppi density. The Phone's viewing angle is very impressive but the colour reproduction disappoints a bit. The screen is responsive and Navigation is very smooth. The phone can be unlocked either by shaking or blowing air.

The Canvas 4 is equipped with a 13 megapixels rear camera and 5 megapixels front camera for video calling. You can record a 1080p HD Video with Canvas 4. Geo-tagging,4-way Panorama, touch focus, smile and face detection are some of the features it has. It also has a burst shot mode that lets you capture up to 99 photos in less than 15 seconds. Isn't it impressive ?

Company has tried to do something new with Canvas 4 by adding some cool features that actually give it an edge over its predecessor. But as far as the chipset is concerned there are not much improvements. Canvas 4 is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core ARM Cortex A7 processor and is supported by 1 GB of RAM.

No Doubt Canvas 4 has got some cool features and has an edge over it's predecessor but is that enough to spend 17,999 on a Micromax product?

Images and a video of Apple's rumoured 'budget iPhone' recently made an appearance on the web.The photos come courtesy of a site creating Android knock-off handsets, Techdy.

Techdy claims to have got their hands on the much talked about Apple's budget iPhone shell , possibly made up of polycarbonate.

The images reveal a good looking rounded-design handset with 4" Display and having one speaker grill at the bottom. It looks more like the original iPod classic rather than an iPhone.

The new article at Techdy blog, written by Chris Chang (Editor-in-Chief of M.I.C Gadget) claims that the budget iPhone will be made from polycarbonate materials. It will have a similar 4" Display screen as in iPhone 5 and having a shape much similar as original iPod classic.

This report maybe genuine because Chris Chang has been much accurate in the past with iDevice design predictions published at M.I.C Gadget. Or it maybe a Publicity Stunt by Techdy Blog to Promote its new "Basic Bear" product - an Android powered smartphone with a much similar design of the above purported low cost iPhone.

Battery Low - Smartphone
Are you fed up of your smartphone's poor battery life and 'Battery Low' warning? Here are some Android apps that can make your life easier by boosting your smartphone's battery life significantly.
Be it task management or multi tasking, Android has improved in with each function as a Platform. But one of the first complaints from new smartphone users is the poor Battery-life. I was also unsatisfied with my smartphone's battery-life and spent some time exploring a number of Battery saver apps on PlayStore, and i have become fond of some of them. Here's a list of my Favorite-5-Battery-Saver-App.

Juice Defender

It is a powerful yet easy to use power manager app specifically designed to extend the battery life of your Android device. Packed with smart functions, it automatically and transparently manages the most battery draining components, like 3G/4G connectivity and WiFi.
Standout features: Multiple versions to suit needs; user profiles; scheduling; and location-aware features

It is a Powerful, smart tool to reduce battery loss and prolong battery life by 50%. It intelligently manages your battery use to your own needs after configured. With pre-set modes and smart toggle control, GO Battery Saver & Widget enables you to configure the battery saving schedule to your unique needs. After configured, it runs by itself and intelligently switches modes, turns on/off toggles as with different battery level, phone status, or time. It can't be easier!
Standout features: Handy widgets; multiple user modes; very clean interface; a steady stream of development updates

Unlike other battery savers like JuiceDefender that require regular user manual actions, GreenPower is an easy battery saver that is fully automatic: Once configured, it runs and saves your battery by itself. It does so by smartly managing Wifi, Mobile data, Bluetooth and Screen Brightness: Turning them off when you don't need them, but ensure minimum disturbance: Automatic turned ON when needed by you or by other apps (e.g retrieving mails).
Standout Features -: Battery life indicator in notification area,Wifi management,Mobile data management.

You don't need to manually turn on/off the Internet connection anymore. This app extends battery life by using a smart algorithm to turn on/off the Internet connection, reduce battery consumption and data usage, but still keep the important background data synchronized.
Standout Features -:
Auto manage 3G/4G/WiFi connection in the background
Show battery level and usage in the status bar
Efficient & easy to use

It is One of the easy to use Battery saver i've ever encountered. It Automatically disable WiFi and data connection after you turning off your screen(with 15~20 secs latency). One of the interesting feature of this app is Genius Sync, which allows app to sync in every 15 minutes.
Standout features -: Easy connections toggling; sleeping mode; staggered sync; and battery percentage in notification bar.

Hello Googlers :) Are you a member of Tata Photon+ family ? Pissed off because of its low browsing and download speed ? Here are some simple ways to increase your Tata Photon+ speed.

Tata Photon+ is a very High Speed Wireless Connection Modem that Offers a very high Bandwidth of 3.1Mbps. But Most of the users complain about getting low browsing and download speed around 50-100 kbps. Generally the speed of your connection is decided by your ISP (Internet Service Provider)
and Network that you are getting. The only thing you can do to increase your connection speed is by simply tuning your Windows Network settings. To do it manually follow the steps below.

Steps To Tune Windows To Get Maximum Internet Speed -

1. Download TCP Optimizer , install and run the program.

2. Open TCP optimizer and in the General Settings move the slider according to you sesired internet speed say 1 Mbps(It depends on the available speed).

3. At the bottom change the radio button to 'Optimal' and press apply changes.

4. Now a new window will Pop-Up asking for applying changes and There check the 'Backup Otion' and click 'Ok'.

5. Restart Your Computer To Apply New Changes.

P.S - After the New changes are applied if you feel that somehow these changes has Decreased your Internet speed instead of Increasing then you can easily restore the previuos settings by using the backup that you have created in the TCP optimizer. To restore settings
1.Run TCP Optimizer.
2.Click 'File' and select 'Restore Backup Up Settings' and Select the saved backup file.
3.Your system will be restored back with default network settings.
